Scores of runners took part in the 5K Turkey Trot in honour of the American Thanksgiving season recently.
While some of the participants used the opportunity of the Trot as a preparation for last week’s triathlon, this event was made of runners, joggers, walkers and pram pushers alike.
The Trot lead participants on a point-to-point course from Foster’s in West Bay to Foster’s in the Strand.
The Thanksgiving season finds more theme-related runs taking place than at any other holiday time, with about 150 events being staged, mostly in the United States. There are numerous activities designated as Turkey Trots, both on the roads and cross-country.
Additionally, there are also the Don’t Be a Turkey 5K, The Turkey Chase, and the Gobbler Gallop.
