It was a packed house for the first elimination round of the Cayman Islands Philippine Basketball Association's Quincentennial Cup last Sunday at the Eastern Avenue Basketball Court.
Four teams battled it out, over two action-packed games. The Bulacan PNJJs and the Blackbeards were the first to duke it out. Bulacan came out on top, but only barely. The final score was 57-56. The Tanong Suns and Papa Johns were next. Papa Johns managed to out-hoop the Suns, 64-58.
Organisers say approximately 500 of Cayman's Philippine community came out for the games. Dale Ramoon, the association's President, performed the opening address.
The elimination round continues this Sunday, 28 December, at the Eastern Avenue Basketball Court, beginning at 4 pm. Teams scheduled to play include: The Atlantis Adventurers, AlLa Kebab, Eddy's Hot Pot Restaurant, Flights, Ilocano Blazers, and RMS D'Jury. All are welcome, and there is no charge
to attend.
