HE the Governor, Bruce Dinwiddy, and his wife, Emma, visited The Pines Retirement Home in George Town on Christmas Eve, to give out gifts to the residents.
Susan Nicholson, Manager of The Pines, said, "Traditionally the Governor comes to meet the residents of The Pines on Christmas morning, but this year we changed the tradition."
All the residents were clearly delighted to see the Governor, among them, 101-year old Carl Bush, the oldest resident of The Pines.
Senior health care worker, Novlette Martinez, said: " We always look forward to the Governor's visit every year. We spend a long time getting everybody ready, in their best clothes. It is a very special event for us."
All the workers and helpers at The Pines gathered round the piano to sing Christmas carols, before the Governor gave out the presents.
Afterwards, the Governor and his wife chatted with residents, staff and volunteers, before departing.
