Cayman's U19 Women gear up for World Championships

The Cayman Islands Football Association, along with 23 national associations, are in preparation for FIFA's Under-19 World championships and have confirmed their participation in the CONCACAF U19 Qualifying Rounds. On Valentine's weekend, Cayman's Under-19 Woman's Football Team is set to clash for the first time, Jamaica's U19 Women's Team.

Cayman who were drawn against Jamaica, have home field advantage and will host their opponents on 13 and 15 February in Cayman. Not to be intimidated, this team feel confident that the winds will blow in their favour this time around.

The team consists of players from DHL National League Champions Scholars, FC International, Future FC, George Town Sports Club and Western Union FC. 

Players invited to train include, Priscilla Connor, Chenara Ebanks, Kesherra Spence, Rebecca Bush, Yorkidia Gordon, Kimberly Pitta, Reneika Rankin, Janycee Parchment, Shakina Bush, Sasha Barnes, Janique Samson, Justina Hurlston, Katrina Thompson, Antea Thompson, Rachel Miller, Erica Webster, Sade Woods, Ariela Smith, Meisha Garden, Vanessa Bailey and Patricia Plummer.

Confirmed participants include: Anguilla, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago, USA and the US Virgin Islands.

CONCACAF's final round is scheduled from 28 May- 6 June, in Canada. FIFA's Under-19 Women's Championships will take place in Thailand, 10-27 November.
