In advance of the final segment of the East End Surf Challenge on Hero's Day, Monday, 26 January, Cayman Net News continues its profiles of those taking part in the event.

Kenny Rankin
Racing for team Wes-Tec, Kenny Rankin is a 10-year veteran of the sport, and likes the challenge of jet ski racing. "As a two-time winner of the EESC, I am very confident that I will make it three in a row," he says. 
The 28-year-old, who lives in George Town, got into the sport of jet ski racing because "I enjoy jumping the waves and racing for fun," he says.

Kenny is racing in the Super Stock class on a Yamaha XL1200.

Considered Cayman's best rider by many, Jason is a rising star in the sport. Racing for the Barely Legal Racing Team, the 17-year-old Jason feels that his experience in the race for the last two years will help him in his quest to win the EESC. 

He has been racing for five years and got into the sport because it was fun. "The racing gave me an adrenaline rush," he said.

Jason likes the challenge of the EESC, "The race course is well designed for racing and a challenge for riders of any level," he said. 

Jason races in the Super Stock class on a Kawasaki STXR 1200.

Eduardo Gourzong
Eduardo Gourzong is looking forward to the East End Surf Challenge. He will be riding with the team known as 2Frenzied and competing in the modified class. 

The 17-year-old from East End says, "I don't expect to come out first, but I will give it my best shot." He says he will enjoy the racing and the experience as a whole, regardless of his finish.

He has been jet skiing for five years, "I just love jumping the waves," he said. 

Eduardo will ride a Venture 1200.
