
Charity golf raises ten thousand dollars

After two successful charity Golf Tournaments in 2002 and 2003 local law firm Truman Bodden & Company held its Third Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Links on Friday, 23 January.
The event raised CI$10,000, which was donated to the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens to assist with its youth program. Gina Berry, the President of the Lions Club, was on hand to collect the cheque from Mr Truman Bodden himself. Ms Berry commented "charity beings at home," because she is also a Director of the law firm.
Golfers of all skill levels took part in the four-man scramble competition which saw 23 teams taking part. The entrants were treated to a Longest Drive Competition on the 12th hole against European Tour Player Marcello Santi, who is a former Italian Open Champion.
A day saturated with Cayman sunshine and Caribbean tranquility was capped off with magnificent prizes, many of which were donated by a host of local companies including: Kirks, Cable & Wireless and Truman Bodden & Co.
The barbecue was catered by Edoardo's with tropical music from the steel drums of Earl La Pierre and ice-cream from Antica
Gelaterria.
The winning team was Bank of Butterfield consisting of Conor O'Dea, Sherree Ebanks, Mark Sorrell and Theo Bullmore. In second place were the bandits: Gary Crossan, Simon Porter, Ross McDonaugh and Randy Fisher. In third place was TechNet: Martin Fahy, Hue O'Brian, Paul Wright, Andrew
Linford.
The Closest to the Pin prize for Men and Women was won respectively by Ross McDonough and Sherree Ebanks. The Longest Drive for Men was won by Ali Bullmore. Leanne Wilkie, a Paralegal at Truman Bodden & Company won Ladies Longest Drive.
