Person
Love, Life, God. They are the three words by which April Lewis lives. The licensed therapist and Director of the Employee Assistance Programme, has always wanted to give back. "I was actually studying to be a lawyer at first but felt I wasn't helping people enough," she said. April was born in Jamaica and raised in the United States but the last thing she wants is to be defined. While visiting South Africa several years ago, April learned about new people, new cultures, and now, refuses to be labelled. "I call myself April. I'm not black or white, or Caymanian, or American, or Jamaican. I have no label. I don't want anyone coming in here saying, 'April are you Caymanian? Are you Jamaican? What are you?' I say, 'never mind. I'm just here to help you.'"
