Jessica McDowall

If Jessica McDowall looks familiar, it may be because she was in Prospect Playhouse's production of Anne Of Green Gables, currently running Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday through 7 March. 

The 13-year-old committed herself to six weeks of rehearsals to play the role of Anne Shirley in Lucy Maud Montgomery's play. 

"My friends got me reading the Anne Of Green Gables books. I loved them. So I tried out for the part of Anne, and I got it," she said.

She points that the shoulder-length red hair in the play is not her own. 

"It took five hours to get those hair extensions."

Born in Missouri but raised in Cayman, the Cayman Prep student dances five times a week, plays netball, and plays the flute and piano. She is hoping to become a veterinarian some day.
