Warning over illegal racing in East End
Tuesday, March 2, 2004
The Royal Cayman Islands Police (RCIP) is advising motorists that
permission to race at High Rock in East End must be obtained from the Commissioner of Police and any application must be made at least
three weeks before the intended event. Without approval from the Commissioner any racing is unlawful and contrary to the traffic laws.
The RCIP intends to take a zero tolerance approach to illegal racing and will be present at High Rock on Sundays and any other days that racing
is planned to enforce the traffic law.
Motorists and enthusiasts interested in racing are encouraged to join organisations already established such as the Hot Rod Association or Motor Sports Association.
