Digicel took an innovative approach to launching their
products to the media and corporate executives last
week that included a fashion show, dancers, and a
multi-media presentation

Monday, March 8, 2004

It was a monumental launch for Digicel last week, when thousands turned out for a fire works show and free concert, featuring Grammy-winning reggae star Sean Paul, on Harbour Drive.

"It all went really well," said Digicel Marketing Executive Tina Trumbach. "We were extremely pleased with the turnout. And we were thrilled with the way the Caymanian people responded to our launch."

More than 7,000 people attended Cayman's newest wireless telecommunications provider's record-breaking marketing phenomenon, which started the day before with a state-of-the-art multi-media presentation of Digicel's products, services and advantages. The presentation even included a telephone 'fashion show.'

Following a nearly 10-minute fireworks show the night of the concert, the massive throng of people extended well past Elmslie Memorial Church.

Sean Paul, who rocketed to fame with "Gimme de Light" tune in 2002, got the evening hopping with a stunning performance highlighted by back-up dancers, a backing band and his permanently installed back-up vocalists.

Breezes by the Bay Restaurant on Harbour Drive hosted a VIP party, where food and drink flowed freely for Digicel shareholders, management, local business people, and staff. From the balconies at Breezes, patrons enjoyed a birds-eye view of the Sean Paul "Freedom Concert" and fireworks show.

According to Ms Trumbach, "It was our way of saying thank you to the many people who made our launch such a tremendous success."
