Kareem Streete-Thompson failed to qualify for the 60-metre finals in the World Indoor Championships in Budapest last week, finishing sixth in Heat Three of the semi-finals.
Kareem wasn't at all disappointed with his showing in the event. In a phone conversation after the semi-finals, he said: "I got a good start and was in the prime lane between Shawn (Crawford) and Theo (Yeorvios). Unfortunately I didn't have the gas tonight to get home.
"I'm not disappointed because I went further than anyone thought I could, especially considering that the 60-metre distance is not my forte.
"The good news is that I have been working hard to improve my stats, and the reaction times say I'm on track. The best news is that my goal has been and remains Athens and looks promising.
"In my mind, my coach's mind, and hopefully in the hearts of people in Cayman, we've got nothing but opportunity ahead of us."
