Gallery sets the record straight
Wednesday, March 17, 2004
Because of confusion surrounding the location of The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, the curator is
aiming to set the record straight.
According to the National Gallery's Natalie Coleman several visitors have reported that the gallery was hard to find. Ms Coleman says that many tourism operators actually send visitors to the Kennedy Gallery in the West Shore Centre or to Pure Art instead.
"These are two popular misconceptions but for the record, that is not where we're located," Ms Coleman said.
The National Gallery is centrally located on the ground floor of the Harbour Centre on South Church Street in George Town. The gallery is open to the public, free of charge, Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm, and on Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm, with parking available in front of the gallery or in the parking garage located at the rear of the building.
"We hope that everyone makes note of our location and our hours of operation. We've got a lot of exciting programmes coming up, including our Children's Opening: Merging Cultures, Merging Arts on 3 April, and our Eco Party on 23 April," Ms Coleman said.
For a complete listing of gallery events, log on to www.gov.ky

- It seems as thought there may still be some confusion regarding the location of the National Gallery. The Gallery is not located in Harbour Centre, it is HARBOUR PLACE, which is located on South Church Street, George Town. Kind regards and warm wishes
