- It is apparent that government is still intent on building a dock for cruise ship tenders in West Bay. The existing dock was built over the objection of the Department of the Environment due to the potential adverse impact on the reef system and fishing in West Bay, now they propose a huge dock together with high speed tenders daily driving through and disrupting the sensitive reef system. This is a poorly planned project, which could destroy Cayman's most precious asset, the environment. If these reefs and the fishery are damaged, there will be no reason for visitors to come to the Island in the future. A comprehensive environmental assessment must be completed, public comments received, and the public must have substantial information and input into this potential disaster before any final decision is made -
