Department of Tourism backs cultural festival

For a second year, the Department of Tourism (DoT) is collaborating with the Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) in its presentation of Cayfest, which is scheduled to run from 2-24 April. 

DoT, one of the title sponsors of the festival, will support, At The Theatre, with dramatist, raconteur, and actor Lloyd Reckord. 

Kathryn Jackson, Public Relations Manager of DoT said: "The Department is proud and honoured to be sponsoring Mr Reckord for this exciting component of Cayfest, and we, along with the rest of the community, look forward to his performance."

She added: "The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism is once again delighted to support Cayfest, a celebration of our culture and of our performing, literary and visual arts. 

"Guests who are here for Cayfest experience the Cayman Islands through all their senses and are exposed to the unique elements of who we (Caymanians) really are." 

CNCF, which produces Cayfest annually during April, will commemorate its 20th year of existence and its tenth Cayfest anniversary this year, with a number of new elements including Cayfest Caboose, Ole Time Ting Come Back Again, and the finale, Multi Culture Jam.

Managing Director of the Cultural Foundation, Marcia Muttoo, expressed her appreciation for the backing of the DoT: "The Cultural Foundation is very pleased to again be joined by the Department of Tourism as one of our Cayfest title sponsors."
