People with diabetes will learn how to safely start and maintain an exercise
programme at the next meeting of the Cayman Islands Diabetes Association (CIDA)
set for 6 pm on Wednesday, 7 April at Seafarers’ Hall, behind the George Town
Public Library.
The main presenter will be Amber Ralston, a certified personal trainer at
Gold’s Gym, who will speak with participants about the importance of physical
fitness.
“My goal is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for every individual,
despite any challenge, be it disease, injury, illness, a previous sedentary
lifestyle, or simply a plateau that you desire to overcome,” she said.
Ms Ralston holds certification in health and fitness, weight training, and
personal training, and is also qualified in CPR and kinesiology, the study of
the mechanics of human muscles.
The meeting is open to everyone interested in learning more about diabetes.
The session is free, but $5 donations are welcome to cover administrative costs.
Light refreshments will be served.
Held the first Wednesday of every month, CIDA meetings are offered to support
those with diabetes and their families. The sessions focus on practical,
medically proven ways of managing diabetes that are easily incorporated into
daily routines.
