Cayman’s aspiring steel drummers recently enjoyed a rare opportunity to fine-tune their skills during a recent workshop with renowned Trinidadian pan-teacher, Dr Dawn Batson.

Working with local music teachers, Dr Batson held a number of workshops with George Hicks High School students and the John Gray Steel Band between 5-6 April.

Currently a music professor at Florida Memorial College in Miami, Dr Batson is also a well-known judge at international steel drum festivals.
