The country crowned a new beauty queen last Saturday night when Stacey Ann Kelly won the 2004 Miss Cayman Islands Pageant at the Lions Centre, delighting the large crowd.

Ms Kelly was also voted Miss Photogenic and Best in Gown. Additional pageant winners included first runner-up, Jovani Hessing, who also received the Best Legs title and second runner-up, Derecha McLaughlin, who was also awarded the Best Smile title.

Committee Chairperson, Lynne Whittaker said, “So many people have made this journey possible, thanks to all the sponsors and the community as a whole for your contributions whether by way of sponsorship of the girls, donations of prizes, training time, services or financial contributions. No matter the size of the support, together it enables us to be here tonight, giving these contestants this wonderful evening of a lifetime.”

Minister of Tourism, the Hon McKeeva Bush, commended last year’s winner, Nichelle Welcome and commented, “She now joins a growing list of former international representatives for these Islands who have performed commendably, abroad and here at home.”

Ms Welcome noted, “It has been an honour representing my country and I have done so with pride and true joy.”
