As part of Earth Day celebrations, many children turned out for the National Gallery’s Art Eco Party last Friday afternoon on the gallery’s terrace at Harbour Place.

Kindergarten, primary and middle school children were invited to bring along clean garbage, nature pieces and recyclable material to create their own works of arts. In keeping with the eco theme, Hobbies and Books displayed a large selection of Dr Seuss books to give the children some inspiration. The Department of Environmental Health provided cookies and juice while the children got to work on their works of art.

It was with great enthusiasm that the children threw themselves into making something from discarded items, and by the end of the afternoon, some impressive pieces of art were created.

It was reported that the children enjoyed the afternoon and are eagerly looking forward to doing it all again next year.
