
CITA set for annual meeting on 29 April

The Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) has
announced it is holding its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 29 April at 2:30
pm at the Marriott Resort.
It is asking all members to attend the to receive an
update on CITA’s key achievements during the 2003/04 financial year and give
input to the association’s priorities for 2004/05 as well as to vote for the
changes to the Articles of Association and their new Board of Directors.
The AGM agenda includes reports by the CITA President,
Treasurer and General Manager, voting on some changes of the CITA’s Articles of
Association as well as the election of the new Board of Directors for 2004/05.
The CITA Board is made up of 13 directors, four of whom
generally serve a two-year term, while nine directors serve a one-year term.
This year, only two directors will serve a second year as
the two other directors had to resign from the CITA Board because the moved away
from the island during their term. So, 11 directors will be voted on to the new
CITA Board.
Posts to be voted in are: two directors for the allied
sector, two directors for the condo sector, one director for the hotel sector,
two directors for the restaurant/nightclub sector, two directors for the
transport sector, and two directors for the watersports sector.
Mark Bastis will serve one more year for the hotel sector,
and Moses Kirkconnell will serve one more year representing the Sister Islands
and these positions on the CITA Board are not up for election this year.
