Health Service develops strategic plan
Tuesday, April 27, 2004
The Health Services Authority recently concluded the first phase of a
strategic planning exercise to formulate long-term plans to maintain the
authority’s role as the leader in comprehensive, quality health care delivery in
the Cayman Islands.
The two-day exercise held on 19 and 20 April, brought together individuals
from diverse backgrounds within the community, including the private sector,
clergy, insurance industry, Ministry of Health, the Board, management and staff
of the HSA.
Chairman of the HSA Strategic Policy Committee, Tim Ridley said: “The wide
cross-section of participants, representing all areas of the society, has
provided invaluable input in shaping the future direction of the HSA and I am
very pleased with the outcome of our deliberations.”
Mr Ridley is confident that the HSA can continue to move forward in an
efficient and sustainable manner in delivering quality healthcare within the
islands and at internationally accepted standards.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of the HSA, Eloise Reid stated: “The
development of a strategic plan provides the HSA with a ‘road map’ which will
guide the organisation in achieving its mission; sets a clear course of action
to follow towards reaching specific objectives; establishes financial goals to
meet the issues identified as critical to the success of the Health Services
Authority”.
The Strategic Plan also provides for the periodic review of HSA operations as
well as for analysis of future trends and needs to ensure it meets specific
objectives.
