Thursday, May 6, 2004

Gatorade/LeBleu beat KPMG 11-3 in Saturday’s first game of the 16-and-over Baseball league.

Gatorade/LeBeu pitcher Eudilices Matos started the game by walking the first batter and giving up a two-run homer to the very next hitter, Charles Georges.

After finally settling down, Matos allowed just one more hit, an RBI single in the fifth inning, and struck out 11 en-route to pitching a complete game.
Gatorade/LeBleu scored two runs in the 6th inning off Shay Sanderson’s grounder that was mishandled by KPMG, giving Gatorade/LeBleu a 4-3 lead.

They would add six more runs in the 7th inning to cruise in for the win.

Game two of the afternoon saw Kirk Freeport with an impressive win over Watler’s Metal, 16-6.

Pitcher Daniel Kirkconnell pitched five strong innings, and home runs by Michael Rivers and YarinTatun helped to clinch the victory.

Caleb Edwards hit a solo home run for Watler’s Metal.

The next game on the schedule is on Thursday, 6 May at 8:30pm, with Kirk Freeport against Watler’s Metal. The league is in need of umpires and anyone interested should contact Kevin 926-0388 or Donnie 916-5696.
