Among those who recently travelled with the Cayman Islands National Junior Swim Team to Bahamas to compete in his 4th CARIFTA Championships was 14-year-old Taylor Foster.

In the 1500 metres Freestyle event Taylor set an incredible Personal Best time by taking 36.9sec off his prior mark.

His time (18:13.5) was also included a lifetime best for the 400 metres (4:43.2) and 800 metres (9:37.2) and qualified him for the prestigious Far Western Meet in San Jose, California this coming July.

He also has just been selected to swim the 5K and 10K distance events at the inaugural Pan American Open Water Swimming Championships in Panama next month.

Dominic Ross, Assistant Swim Coach, noted: “Taylor is such an easy kid to work with. He trains hard and never complains about the increasing workload we are placing upon him.

“Clearly, his strong work ethic paid off in CARIFTA, and we expect him to continue to improve and contribute significantly to the future success of Cayman Swimming.”
