A new mobile tennis business, Elite Tennis Services Ltd has launched recently in Cayman, taking portable tennis coaching a step further.

The new service offers on court professional coaching in addition to a pro shop and racquet restringing delivery service.

Elite owners Jonathan Klampe and Mitch Ebanks said: “We are very excited about Elite Tennis Services and believe that Cayman can only benefit from the provision of an islandwide tennis coaching service such as ours, that will concentrate predominately on individualised coaching and development.”

Mitch, who grew up honing his skills on the courts in Cayman, said that giving back was his main priority.

From his youth, Mitch has helped coach other local players when he wasn’t travelling throughout the Caribbean playing tournaments.

His two greatest honours are being selected as a member of the Island Games Team in 2003 where the team brought home a bronze medal, and earning his professional tennis certification from the Professional Tennis Registry in 2003.

Jonathan, originally from Iowa, has been coaching tennis on Grand Cayman for six years and has played an integral part in the development of junior tennis since his arrival.

Rated 86 in America at the age of 16, Jonathan was a Cayman National team member in 1999 and 2001, winning a gold medal in the doubles in 2001.

He has travelled extensively to international competitions with many talented local players in the Caribbean and Florida and has implemented the first ever national tennis programme in conjunction with the Ministry of Sports in Cayman.

Elite Tennis Services will be offering an extensive junior programme, comprising of a Little Tennis Programme catering to children under the age of six.

It is currently accepting registration for this programme, which commences on Saturday, 15 May. An after school programme will also be offered for children over six years old.

For further details or to book private coaching for all ages and abilities contact Jonathan at 947 7549 or Mitch at 916 4455.
