and guests that Cayman continued to be a leader in international insurance as a
result of healthy partnerships.
Mr Bush commented: “We view a partnership between the Government and our
business partners, internationally as well as domestic, as a significant element
in the ongoing success of the Cayman Islands insurance industry.
“Going forward, our goal is to continuously develop the optimal combination
of business facilitation and prudent regulation, and consequently creating the
ideal platform for international business”.
As the largest insurance conference in the United States, RIMS attracted more
than 400 exhibitors and more than 4,000 attendees, and delivered its usual high
standard of informative sessions, engaging speakers and valuable networking
opportunities.
Government hosted its annual RIMS cocktail reception at the San Diego
Marriott Hotel and Marina where Mr Bush and Mr Jefferson welcomed guests.
Among others on hand were Cindy Scotland, Managing Director of the Monetary
Authority, Mary-Lou Gallegos, Head of Insurance at the Authority, and Mike
Gibbs, Chairman of the Insurance Managers’ Association of Cayman.
Commenting on the substantial growth in Cayman’s insurance industry, Mr
