The Department of Tourism and Cayman National Bank have joined forces to showcase the Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Challenge projects by Bodden Town Primary and John Gray High School, at the Elgin Avenue branch of Cayman National Bank this week.

As part of the Challenge, Year 11 students were invited to choose a “real world” environmental issue to tackle, develop, carry out and document, while Year Three students were asked to create an art project showing Why We Need Water.

Year Three students from Bodden Town Primary created a piece of artwork using recycled materials that included glass found on the beach, and the John Gray Recyclers cleaned up Cayman’s beaches, organised recycling programmes, wrote a rap song about recycling which aired on local radio, and raised money to save the endangered Cayman blue iguana.
