figure of $262,519.
New in this year’s budget is $863,042 earmarked for the provision of
financial intelligence services, including receipt of an estimated 400 to 500
suspicious activity reports, as well as analysis and dissemination of financial
intelligence.
The cost of drafting legislation is budgeted at $654,646 for an estimated 60
new laws and/ or amendments.
The budget for teaching and publications totals $628,908, which includes the
cost of the Law School, catering to some 104 students, and legal publications,
including the Cayman Islands Law Bulletin.
The provision of legal advice and representation to other government agencies
in relation to civil proceedings and other legal actions brought by or against
the Government is budgeted at $216,826.
