More captive insurance competition for Cayman
CHARLESTON, USA – The Charleston Post Courier reports that, in the past,
businesses suffering high insurance costs flocked to the Cayman Islands and
other offshore tax havens to set up captives. But since South Carolina
passed its captive law in 2000, capping taxes on industry premiums, many
businesses have turned to Charleston.

BELFAST, Northern Ireland – According to the Belfast Telegraph, a Bentley
Continental from the Cayman Islands will take part in a cavalcade of more than
50 vintage and classic cars as part of the Emerald Isle Classic Car Rally.
Cayman dolphin proposals in the news
FORT LAUDERDALE, USA – According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, dolphin
mania is changing the face of tourism in Caribbean, with eight new dolphin
swim attractions in the Caribbean in the past two years and another eight
proposed. Four facilities are reportedly proposed in the Cayman Islands alone.
Former Cayman developer killed in plane crash
RALEIGH, USA – The Raleigh News reports that Rob Snyder, the developer of a
beachfront condominium project in Grand Cayman, died late Sunday when his
Beechcraft Bonanza crashed short of the runway at Raleigh-Durham International
Airport.
