Radio Stations Z99 and Rooster 101 held the first H2O Extreme event on Sunday at the Kaibo Yacht Club, which included an expo, beach games, kayak races, two jet-ski races, alongside an amateur and elite race.

People who took the scenic drive to Kaibo or arrived by boat were treated to displays from Kirk Marine, Sky Wireless, Tony’s Toys, Surfside Aquasports, and Harbour House Marina.

There was a cool zone for the overheated that included wading pools from Pools R Us and misters from Cool Fogg.

Beach games included Water Waiter, Wet Head and more. Kids and adults took part in the kayak races with kayaks provided by Cayman Glass Bottom Kayaks which also gave away one glass bottom kayak.

The afternoon ended with the amateur and elite jet-ski races. The amateur race was one lap around a 2.8 mile triangular course in North Sound. Third place went Jon Ginder, second was Andres Webb with team Who’s Next, and in first place was Jimel McLean with team Barely Legal. Racers won trophies and Sunoco Race Fuel from Tony’s Toys.

The elite jet ski race was five laps around the same triangular course. Fourth place was Vance Ramgeet with team New World Construction, who won $500 cash. Third was William Ebanks with team WesTec winning $1,000 cash, second was George Smith with team Who’s Next, winning $1,500 cash. First place sent to Daniel McLain with team 2Frenzied, winning $3,000 cash. Each winner also received a drum of Sunoco Race Fuel.

Z99 and Rooster 101 are hoping to make H2O Extreme an annual event.
Winner, Daniel McLain said: “It was a good race, we didn’t have a top end craft but we had enough acceleration to keep up.”
