The Our Little Miss Competition took place on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 May at the Harquail Theatre.

Our Little Miss is a beauty pageant that started in the US in 1961, and has since branched out into many sister pageants representing different age categories.

The competition was divided into two halves, the first was for age groups zero to nine, and took place on Friday, and the second group, for ages nine upwards, took place on Saturday.

The competition was sub-divided into different crowns for different age categories, and there was also a Successor and Mini Queen in each category.

Baby Petite, for children aged two and under, was won by Diandra Whittaker and La Petite, for ages three to six, was won by Kiandra Parchmont.

The Our Little Miss category, for ages seven to nine was won by Alora Davis-Myles and Little Miss Pre-Teen, for ages 10-12 was won by Vashti Ramgeet.

The winner of Ideal Miss (ages 13-17) was Evana Martinez.

Cayman’s Universal Girl (ages 18-28 unmarried) was won by Anita Rao. Cayman’s Universal Ms (ages 18 and over married) was Joanne West.

During the talent part of the competition, each contestant had to produce some kind of performance, usually a song or dance, to the appreciative roar of the audience.

There were also Golden Award of Excellence awards given to two young ladies who are past contestants, and who showed the “OLM spirit.”

Winners will represent the Cayman Islands at the 2004 World’s Our Little Miss Finals in New Orleans, Louisiana, where they will compete against hundreds of girls from around the US, Nigeria, and Azerbaijan.
