Jalon Linton
Friday, May 21, 2004
A BRIGHT young and upcoming star in the cricket world, has proven himself
so many times that he deserves another look. At 20, Jalon Linton has already
been on nine junior tours and three senior tours.
Jalon started out playing football and cricket from an early age at George
Town Primary School. Jalon’s talents shone through and when he was 17, he
played football and cricket for the Cayman Islands. He then decided he needed
more time in his life, and wanted to focus on cricket.
This past summer, Jalon went away to Guyana to play in the U19 West Indies
Tournament, playing for the Rest of Americas team. They did not go expecting
to win, just to turn some heads, and they came home proud.
When he isn’t on the cricket field, Jalon can be found working with his
father at J&R Contracting, Esso Standard Oil. Or studying at the community
college, “Education comes first” he said, “I need the some doors left open for
other careers.”
