wisdom and experience to
Tomlinsom Hospital

Heart disease continues to be the most common cause of premature death in both men and women.

The Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital has announced that it has responded to the high incidence of this disease by recruiting an internationally-recognised cardiologist, Dr Frank Pallares.

Since graduating from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1973, Dr Pallares has gained more than 30 years of valuable experience, practising in Canada and the US.

“I am delighted to be here in Cayman, and look forward to assisting those with this all-too-common disease,” said Dr Pallares.

“The heart is like an engine pumping 2,000 gallons a day through three fuel lines, lines that get increasingly dirtier from the moment you are born to the moment you die.

However there is a lot that can be done to treat heart disease, so it is important that people don’t ignore symptoms such as shortness of breathe and chest pain,” continued Dr Pallares.

Dr Pallares holds Canadian and American board certification in Cardiology and is a member of the American College of Cardiology.

Hospital Administrator, Dave Pellow commented: “It is an honour to have a physician with such a breadth of knowledge, experience and skill on our team.

“As we see an increasingly large number of patients with heart disease, we felt that it was imperative that we have a specialist in cardiology for our patients.”

The public can make an appointment with Dr Pallares by calling 949-6066.
