Digicel launched its digiSELECT cut-price phone calls deal on Wednesday, 26
May.
Under the three new bundles, Cayman customers can now call anyone, anywhere,
at anytime for only 25 cents per minute.
The launch of the packages by Digicel marks the first time in the Cayman
Islands that international calls will be included in a mobile calling plan, the
company says.
In addition to calls to international destinations, the new digiSELECT World
packages also include calls to Digicel mobiles, local fixed lines, and all other
mobiles, all at an effective rate of 25 cents per minute.
“Digicel is proud to be launching these innovative packages which highlight
our commitment to the Cayman Islands.
“These packages, I believe, are a world first as they include calls both
locally or internationally to either fixed or mobile phones, demonstrating
Digicel’s commitment to offering its customer’s leading edge products,” said
Bruce Richardson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Digicel.
The three different packages vary from $45, $70, to $90 a month, for 180,
280, and 360 minutes respectively.
Chris Saunders, Financial Controller for Digicel, commented: “These plans
offer simplicity for all and likewise recognise the expatriate community here in
the Cayman Islands who make many international calls.”
He also said Digicel hoped to close deals soon in two other Caribbean nations
while continuing to navigate into the South American markets.
“Wherever we launch we become the market leader and that helps our
customers,” he added.
