Letter to the Editor

Police must act to remove this daily traffic hazard

Wednesday, June 2, 2004

Dear Sir,

I wish to ask the Police Department to please once again enforce the no left turn in through Governor’s Harbour at Public Beach and Marriott Courtyard.

Last week, someone actually passed me on Peninsula Road doing about 45mph. This was at 7 am.

Due to the build-up around the Ritz, people feel it their right to sweep through Governor’s Harbour everyday and race along to Safehaven, only to join in the queue at The Ritz once again.

There is a huge number of people doing this and the police must enforce the signs and issue tickets.

My daughter is walked to school at CIS every day at eight in the morning and in the past it was very peaceful, now it is full of unwanted vehicles trying to save five minutes of their day by using this shortcut.

Please put a stop to this once and for all – it is for the safety of our children!
