A keen follower of progress at the Ritz-Carlton hotel
Thursday, June 3, 2004
Dear Sir,
I have been watching the progress of the beautiful Ritz-Carlton Hotel, from
the time the first foundation was laid, and had to be demolished and
reconstructed all over again.
It has gradually progressed and is nearing the stage of completion, and it
is a stately building that the entire Cayman Islands should be proud of.
This hotel will cater to a level of clientele that we have never had before.
It will set the standard for other up-market hotels which will do the Islands
an abundance of good, and many hundreds, and possibly thousands of people will
derive benefits from this property.
I have heard from time to time of the ups and downs during the construction
period, but the developer Mr Michael Ryan never seems to get discouraged, and
I always refer to him as the most persistent and determined man I have ever
met.
As already mentioned, this hotel will mean more to these Islands than any
other property that has been developed, and by way of this letter I would like
to highly congratulate Mr Ryan for taking on such an enormous task, and his is
deserving of as many accolades that the people of these Islands could shower
upon him.
Again, congratulations Mr Ryan and I sincerely hope that you will meet your
opening date of 18 December.
Norberg K Thompson, OBE
