St Ignatius students get to enjoy a special team-building camping trip

Despite getting wet from falling in the sea, and having
to trudge back two miles along Frank Sound Road, the
teams clearly enjoyed their day out

Monday, June 21, 2004

A group of Year 10 students from St. Ignatius High School have been on a special team-building camping trip along the Mastic Trail at Frank Sound as a part of their post-exam activities.

The students were split into six groups of six students, and were asked to do perform a series of physically demanding exercises.

This included walking from Frank Sound Dock to Barefoot Gardens at East End, where they camped until Saturday morning.

“We do a bunch of tasks and if we forfeit, we have to walk two miles back,” said one of the students, Kimberly Solomon.”

One of the Tasks included navigation around the dock at Frank Sound, tied together and blindfolded.

The walk down Frank Sound Road was further complicated by having to stand on a narrow plank of wood (left), every time teacher Dominique Chenier shouted the word “lightning.”
