Friday, June 25, 2004

Over 270 year six students from government and private schools recently graduated from the Drug Abuse Resistance Education programme.

They included pupils from Red Bay, North Side, Bodden Town, John A Cumber, East End, Savannah Primary, as well as Truth for Youth and Cayman Academy.

The graduation took place at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom, and guest speakers included the Minister of Education, Hon. Roy Bodden, plus the wife of HE The Governor Emma Dinwiddy.

They were joined by RCIP Chief Superintendent David Gooding, Director of CASA Linda McField, and DARE instructors, Constables Everton Spence and Harold Forte.

Six hundred students participated in the 17 week programme, which was designed to teach students how to resist drug abuse and deal with negative peer pressure.
