Monday, June 28, 2004
On 13 June the Cayman boxers returned from Trinidad with 4 medals and
experience that will last them a life time.
Ronaldo Garcia after training for nine months and Jizana Sandoval who has
only been training a mere 3 months both returned home with gold medals in the
super-heavyweight division.
In the middleweight division Tracey Seymour fought the Caribbean Champion
from Trinidad and Tobago, and unfortunately lost by decision.
Jessicia McFarlane fought the Caribbean Champion for her weight class
and unfortunately lost but still returned home with a bronze.
Marcus Alexander fought a fight which many are still discussing now. Marcus
fought against a Dominican fighter and sadly lost by a controversial decision.
Reader comments:
- I would just like to say to the boxers to keep their heads up and work
hard. Don’t give up on their dreams. Winners never quit and quitters never
win. It is not what happens to you in life that counts but what you do with
what happens that counts. Are you winners? Yes, you are, so push forward.
God bless - The Killa, Charles Whittaker
