Wyndham Sunshine Suites Resort in the heart of Seven Mile Beach recently
played host to a group of 44 students and two teachers from St. Ignatius High
School, during a career day organised by the Chamber of Commerce.
The students and teachers enjoyed a tour of the Wyndham Sunshine Suites Grand
Cayman resort, including the guest suites, Sunshine bar and grill, guest
laundry, dive lockers and back of house area.
During the property tour, the students were informed about different
employment opportunities at the hotel, and were invited to ask questions about
working in the hospitality field.
Sunshine Suites’ General Manager Jerry Hawk said “We are very pleased to be
part of this important career day for the St. Ignatius students. These students
are our future, and we are grateful for the chance to get the students excited
about the diverse career and employment choices available at our resort, and in
the hospitality industry island-wide.
“The hospitality industry really offers career opportunities for everyone,
and it is our responsibility to ensure that our youth is well informed.”
Prior to re-boarding buses to take the group to the next stop of their
careers day, students and teachers enjoyed a lunch courtesy of Sunshine Bar and
Grill.
Sunshine Suites is also currently participating with John Gray High School,
with one student spending two weeks working along-side Sunshine Suites employees
to learn about the hotel business.
