Letter to the Editor

In defence of the Government’s record

Friday, July 2, 2004

Dear Sir,

Since the United Democratic Party came to power, telephone rates have been drastically reduced; the unloading of cargo ships is being done in the night and has absolutely transformed the traffic in George Town by eliminating most of the heavy container traffic, and now on the front page of the Caymanian Compass appears “Power Rates Going Down.”

A new cruise ship tender pier is under construction, to be completed before the end of the year. These are only a few of the many major projects undertaken by the Hon McKeeva Bush and his Government, and the people will derive so many benefits from the projects that the UDP Government should be reinstated even without a November election.

Norberg K Thompson, OBE
