New web site recalls good old days

Tuesday, July 20, 2004

Dear Sir,

CaymanCommunity.Com is now LIVE. It offers online calendars of events and happenings in Cayman.

It’s free to view, free to add events and there are ten separate calendars including Arts and Entertainment, Business & Politics, Schools and Sports.

For now, everything on CaymanCommunity.Com is free. It is owned and operated by Cayman Community Ltd., a local company that I incorporated earlier this year.

Cayman has been my home since the early 70s and part of the idea for CaymanCommunity.Com came from remembering the old Galleon Beach days.

For those not here at that time, Galleon Beach Hotel that was, held a fabulous barbeque every week, live bands played and everyone had a dance.

Cayman’s Community was much smaller and Galleon was a great place to catch up and find out what was happening.

Now Cayman is much larger, there’s more going on and it’s not so easy to find out all the happenings.

Hopefully CaymanCommunity.Com will help.

  • This community calendar is a great idea. We have needed it for a long time. I always hear people say that there is nothing to do in Cayman, well now here is a selection of events that is easy to access. They are all in one place - Ciara Sweeney
