E Technologies Ltd, which will trade as CaymanOne, was granted a telecom
licence by the Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICTA) last
week.
The company, which listed a Singapore address on its licence application,
received approval to offer a wide range of services including cellular, Internet
and fixed wireless.
“We’re to compete in every single field that Cable & Wireless does,” said the
company’s Marketing Director Nigel Berry.
Currently in temporary offices in George Town, a CaymanOne spokesperson said
the company would build a 15,000-square foot, two-storey data centre on a
seven-acre property across from the entrance to Marina Drive.
Mr Berry said that CaymanOne was here for the long haul. “Our licence was for
15 years and we plan to be here that long and longer,” he said. “We’re going to
shake up the telecom market.”
Although the company has yet to announce many details of its products and
services, Mr Berry said that a detailed press release would be issued in the
near future.
