Bodden Town Primary School kindly donated an array of hand painted ceramic tiles to the National Trust shop.

The pupils have been learning about Cayman’s wildlife and heritage from ceramics teachers, Danswell Davidson and Benedict John, through the art of glazing.

The creative interpretations entitled “Lizard Palace” are delightfully stylised, colourful tiles that could be used to protect counter tops from hot pots, as original pieces in tiled walls or as a simple ornament.

Frank Roulstone, Interim Executive Director of the National Trust commented “We at the National Trust are always delighted to note the enthusiastic interest that the children of the Cayman Islands regularly demonstrate in their heritage and environment.

“We would like to thank Bodden Town Primary School for donating these wonderful works of art to the Trust Shop, and hope that the public will take time to visit the shop to view and enjoy them.”

The tiles are available to buy for CI$5 from the National Trust shop on Court Road, opposite Cox’s Lumber on Eastern Avenue. Interested individuals can call 949 0121 for information.
