Bodden family reunites in the Cayman Islands for a very special celebration

Tuesday, August 3, 2004

More than sixty members from one of Cayman’s best-known families got together recently for their annual reunion party.

More than 150 people passed through the honoured home district of Bodden Town during the course of the reunion weekend, while the large number of the Bodden family members attended the main reunion event held at the Marriott Hotel.

Visitors came from Canada, California, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi, as well as from all over the Cayman Islands.

From sea captains to captains of industry, the reunion witnessed one of the best ever gatherings of this famous, one-of-a kind Caymanian family.

Dick Arch certainly had his hands full as the liaison officer for the annual Bodden family reunion. Mr Arch is connected to the Bodden name and district through his grandmother, and was delighted to spend time with relations from far and wide.

Over the last 38 years the event has been held in various locations overseas, but this year the Bodden family reunited in their own historic district for only the second time.

“I’ve been going to these events for around eight years,” said Mr Arch, “And this one was the best yet.”
