Hard work has earned John A. Cumber honour roll student Jordan Bush a new computer in recognition of his outstanding academic and sporting efforts.

The recognition came from the New Self Help Community Foundation and the Leader of Government Business, the Honourable McKeeva Bush who explained: “It is our civic responsibility to encourage our youth to aim high and to give them all the assistance possible to help them get there.

“Young minds need to be nurtured so that they can advance in our communities and be the leaders of tomorrow.”

The foundation’s main goal is to help the youth of today develop a sense of self-worth and help them recognise their full potential.

This donation was part of the Youth Empowerment Programme of the NSHCF. Says CEO JC Connor: “We hope that by recognising the needs of our young people and helping them reach their full potential, more young persons in our society will achieve success.”

The excited 11-year-old and his mother, Novlette Bush, were “very grateful” that Jordan has been recognised for his achievements.

“He has been working very hard to maintain high grades in school and to do well on the football field, said Mrs Bush. “It is nice to know that someone out there can see the hard work our children put forth and show them this level of support.”
