The Department of Tourism participated in the 22nd Annual Aspen Classic, sponsored by Food & Wine magazine earlier this summer.

During the three-day event the Department of Tourism had a booth in the Grand Tasting Pavilion where they promoted both the destination and the Cayman Islands own food and wine event – Cayman Classic 2005.

All of the 5,000 people who attended the show each received general information on the Cayman Islands in their registration bags. Attendees were also entered into prize giveaways, and visitors to the Department of Tourism booth were treated to samples of Tortuga Rum cake.

Catering to prospective high-spending travelers, the Aspen Classic’s wine seminars, cooking demonstrations, panel discussions and wine and food tasting tents were all well attended.

The Department has received positive feedback from attendees and is already planning on how to make its presence even bigger and better in 2005.
