From Friday, 6 August through Sunday, 8 August Fidelity Group, authorised
agent of Western Union Money Transfer® service in the Cayman Islands, will
sponsor the Cayman Jamaican celebration weekend, an action-filled weekend
celebrating new low rates for Western Union Money Transfer transactions to
Jamaica.
The weekend will be marked by a special Western Union customer appreciation
day, participation in Jamaica’s independence celebrations in the Cayman Islands,
and football matches featuring Cayman’s National team and league champions from
Jamaica.
On Friday, 6 August, Fidelity Group partners with the Jamaican community in
celebration of the island’s 42nd anniversary of independence.
Jamaicans will hold their independence festivities at the Mango Tree
Restaurant and Bar, while the local Western Union agent will sponsor a live
radio broadcast on Vibe FM.
On the Saturday Western Union will launch its new rate on Western Union Money
Transfers from Cayman to Jamaica.
The launch will take place at a customer appreciation event at Foster’s Food
Fair, Airport Centre from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Radio Jamaica (RJR) will be in Grand Cayman to broadcast the event back to
Jamaica and local radio listeners will be able to hear a live broadcast on Vibe
FM.
Western Union customers will be treated to refreshments, entertainment and a
host of giveaways and opportunities to meet local football players from Cayman’s
national team, and members of Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz team.
They are part of the Tivoli Gardens football team, which will be in Grand
Cayman to play a series of matches on the same weekend.
“We are renewing our commitment to customers in our community by
participating in, and hosting events that will be entertaining and beneficial to
all market segments and to families,” said Jeffrey Webb, Business Development
Manager of Fidelity Group of Companies.
“This weekend gives us this opportunity to launch our new low rate, and at
the same time say thanks to all our customers for their support, and we
encourage everyone to come out and share the excitement we feel in serving the
community.”
In addition to these events, Fidelity Group has thrown its support behind a
series of football matches that weekend.
On the Saturday, Foster’s League champions, Latinos Football Club will
encounter Jamaica’s Premier League champions, Tivoli Gardens FC, while on the
Sunday, Tivoli will face the Cayman National team.
Both matches will be played at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex and will
begin at 7 pm each evening.
For the weekend’s activities, Fidelity Group has also partnered with Cayman
Airways, which has supported the company in travel assistance for the RJR
broadcast crew and football team. Cayman Airways celebrates its 36th anniversary
that same weekend.
