I am thankful I never had any trouble finding a nice apartment for me and my children, but I know the struggle to work and support the family, while being there for the children. Sometimes it is not possible for a mother to be there in the home, because she is not only chief cook and bottle-washer, but the wage earner too. I worked a regular job, and got a real estate license to supplement, so I could set my own hours for that and be able to care for the children, attend PTA, and everything that is required to care for a family. It is easy to sit on the side-lines and judge a woman who is separated or divorced from her husband, or who may not even have been married, but nonetheless, children have a right to happiness, and a right to good care, and both the mother and father need to put aside their own hurts, or needs, and give the children the love and care they are expected to receive. Sadly, men often just look for the "fun" and don't give a hoot about the "results�... the children. Many husbands figure if they're not living with their former spouse, they don't have any responsibility to the children. They just look after the "new" family they have made and are living with - Been There
