Thursday, August 19, 2004
Ecay, the Cayman Islands’ first web directory will launch this winter, with a
print-run of 60,000 and an interactive website.
This new annual publication by Alfresco Advertising, will be distributed free
of charge to every home and business island-wide, as well as to visitors, hotels
and condos. International firms in London, Hong Kong and New York and global
international conferences will also receive copies.
“Ecay is a sophisticated publication indicative of today’s progressive
business community in the Cayman Islands”, said Hilary McKenzie-Cahill, Managing
Director for Alfresco Advertising and Ecay. “Prior to embarking on this project,
we undertook extensive market research and discovered there was a gap in the
market.
“Many local businesses realised the importance of a website as an integral
part of their marketing mix; however, having invested considerable sums to
produce a site it became apparent that the actual promotion of their site was
far more complex than they anticipated.”
Cathy Williams, Director of Sales & Marketing stated: “Ecay was developed as
a solution to this problem and is the perfect medium for local companies to
promote their websites to prospective clients both locally and internationally.
Due to our extensive and definitive distribution, we envision Ecay to be
frequently used by every person with a computer in the Cayman Islands.”
Ecay will be a full-colour glossy, containing information on all companies in
the Cayman Islands that have a website.
It will also include information on Government agencies, professional
associations, website addresses, as well as festival and cultural events.
In addition there will be maps of the central business district, tourist
destinations and an international URL section
“There is no doubt that Ecay will help each of its advertisers increase
traffic to their websites,” said Hilary. “We have positioned Ecay to become
Cayman’s predominant annual business publication and the initial response from
the business community has been incredible.
“By being part of Ecay these businesses now have the opportunity to promote
their websites, raise their profiles and attract new clients”.
