Woman murdered in West Bay

A 28-year-old Jamaican female was murdered in West Bay last Wednesday, and Police Media Relations Officer Kafara Augustine confirmed that the woman’s 55-year-old boyfriend is being held in custody in the matter.

Around 9:58 pm, the Emergency Communications Centre (911) received a report of a domestic disturbance involving a male and female at a residence in Birch Tree Hill, West Bay.

Police Officers were dispatched to the scene and discovered the female victim who had been shot. Paramedics also responded to the scene and the female was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Scenes of Crime officers were also called to the scene and a post mortem examination will be scheduled. The names of the victim and the alleged perpetrator of the murder had not been released at the time of press.
