ICTA invites public comments on telephone number portability

Wednesday, September 8, 2004

The Information and Communications Technology Authority is addressing the issue of Local Number Portability (LNP), which allows customers to keep their existing telephone number should they decide to switch telephone providers.

The Authority has placed on public record a consultative document on Local Number Portability and is seeking comments on the potential costs and benefits from Licensees, other stakeholders and the general public.

Copies of the consultative document may be obtained by calling the ICTA offices at 946-4282 or by accessing the Authority’s website at: www.icta.ky and referencing ‘Consultations’.

Comments on Local Number Portability are to be submitted to the ICTA by 30 September 2004.
